The official organization of the Heretic project

Heretic is a unique tool that lets you do what only corporations with access to massive computing power usually do: Modify, rather than merely run, language models. It does not perform expensive training; rather, it uses a collection of mathematical techniques to steer behavior based on contrasting example prompts and matching scorers.

Heretic can, depending on the configuration:

• Suppress refusals/remove censorship
• Reduce slop
• Reduce humor
• Reduce sycophancy
• Alter emotional alignment

and many, many other things.

The purpose of this organization is to publish and curate high-quality models made using Heretic, and to serve as a central point of contact for the Heretic project on Hugging Face.

Membership is open to anyone who has either

1. contributed code to the Heretic project, or
2. published a well-received model made using Heretic.
